Home Media Center?

It's been quite sometime since i used my media player with an external USB, now it's time to moved on to centralize storage since i can't keep up adding more external usb disk as storage. The wire also makes me headache ;|

Until now i have own;

1 x 250GB MAXTOR Basics External 
1 x 250GB Seagate Expansion Drive
1 x 500GB Hitachi Simple Drive
1 x 500GB Transcend StoreJet
1 x 1TB HP Simple Save

the disk were used as;
Maxtor - Wii Backup Game
Seagate - Store importance documents
Hitachi - Mobile entertainment as backup Movies
Transcend - Office Work Backups
HP Simple Save - Multimedia Home files for Modeo MR56

All i need is to have a centralize location where i can put all my multimedia files so i don't have to move the disk when i needed it work with. the most importance is i can stream all my backup movies via XMBC or PLEX. i have found some configuration to start with but having some issue deciding which to choose from, afraid that it will be another headache process if i need to upgrade in near future, below are what i have in mind, please share some thought if you think it the best for me to start with.
